the historical record. Note: In this listing, club membership is
shown for identification purposes, as this listing is primarily for the archive
and is not used for calculating team results. Your club may be different from

so that I can make the necessary correction. For age records, an over 70 is also an over 60,
over 50 and over 40, so increases the tally on all 4 age groups. A lady
will also increase these numbers, as well as the numbers for the corresponding
female categories. i.e., a lady can beat a man, an older competitor can
beat a younger person. Simultaneous finisher's tallies are based on previous
numbers, but all add to the tally for subsequent finishers.
Retirement information is to be added at the end when splits
are available to identify retirement locations. At present I only know
retirees were last seen at the Start; I hope to get split times and hence
retirement locations in due course.
The numbers
include retirees (14 of the 25 correspond to zero completions, never having
finished)
With regard to completions - 91 (40%) were finishers for the first time, with
20% finishing for the second time and 7% for the third.
Regulars, with 10 or more finishes, comprised 10% of the field.
Of the 25 retirees, 14 were first timers who had possibly under-estimated the
task. Only 1 single completion, 3 each 2 or 3.
There were then 4 retirees in the range 6 to 10 completions. I guess the
multiple completers who retire know the task but just had a problem this time.
Statistically, the numbers are too small to make firm conclusions, but as
previously observed 'No Finish' is second only to 'Finished Once'.
This chart only lists finishers.
Of the 228 finishers, only 37 were under 40 (including 14 ladies).
In contrast, there were 49 over 60's of whom 11 were o/70's (respectively 10 and
1 female).
There were around 70 in both the 40-49 and 50-59 year range (~20% ladies).
There were 25 retirees, 6 Open, 7 40's, 8 50's, 3 60's and one o/70. So, over
a third of the open starters retired, but around 10% for older groups.
18M and 7F retired.
